Job Summary
Remuneration: R20000.00 R 25000.00 CTC
Purpose Of The Job:
Our client has an excellent opportunity available for a Qualified Automotive Technician to join their well-established gearbox specialist workshop in Rustenburg. The successful candidate will perform the full scope of mechanical duties with a particular focus on gearbox repairs diagnostics and related mechanical systems.
This position is suited to a technically skilled and reliable individual with a strong mechanical background and solid experience within the motor industry.

- Perform the full spectrum of mechanical work from diagnostics fault-finding and repairs to overhauls and rebuilds
- Conduct gearbox removal stripping repair reassembly and installation
- Carry out vehicle inspections diagnostics and road tests to ensure quality workmanship
- Maintain accurate job cards and service documentation
- Work efficiently to meet productivity and turnaround targets
- Ensure adherence to safety and workshop standards at all times
- Assist with technical problem-solving and provide support to fellow technicians
- Maintain a clean organised and professional workspace
- Communicate effectively with workshop management regarding progress and technical issues
- Minimum 5 years experience in the motor industry as a Qualified Technician
- Motor Mechanic or Diesel Mechanic Trade Test (qualified artisan)
- Mechanical Diploma or Certificate (advantageous)
- Strong technical and mechanical aptitude
- Experience working with gearboxes transmissions and drivetrain systems (essential)
- Ability to perform diagnostics and fault-finding accurately
- Valid drivers licence (Code 8 or higher)
- Reliable punctual and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Motor Industry experience Essential!!
- Solid mechanical and diagnostic skills
- High attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Strong problem-solving and analytical ability
- Professional and customer-focused attitude
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Previous experience with both light and heavy-duty gearboxes
- Exposure to automatic and manual transmission systems
- Knowledge of diagnostic tools and software
