The Scheduler is responsible for scheduling duties patient registration and additional administrative tasks.
This is a full-time position working out of our Eagan Orthopedic Surgery Center working Monday - Friday generally 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM varies to as late as 5 PM.
Twin Cities Orthopedics is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health) a group of local medical practices owned and led by its physicians on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for accurately and consistently scheduling and verifying insurance information for all surgical procedures.
- Maintains professional relationships with all physician offices.
- Works in conjunction with Leadership on block scheduling and maintains the schedule flow.
- Assists in training staff in scheduling as needed.
- Accountable for reporting occurrences through the centers established reporting process related to employee and/or patient/visitor events.
- Participates in acceptable continuing education fostering career and skill development including meeting departmental continuing education requirements.
- Any and all other duties as assigned including those assigned to Patient Services Representative (see Patient Services Representative Job Description) and Non-Clinical Pre-Admission Coordinator (see NCPATC Job Description).
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School diploma/GED or equivalent
- Medical terminology knowledge preferred
- Two years experience in medical office setting or related field preferred

- Work in the clinic office or surgery center during business hours
- Travel independently throughout the clinic office or surgery center (which may include movement from floor to floor); frequent bending lifting standing stooping or sitting for long periods of time may be required
- Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds with occasional lifting and moving of a maximum of 50 pounds may be required
- Work at an efficient and productive pace handle interruptions appropriately and meet deadlines
- Communicate and interact in a respectful and professional manner
- Prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of the daily operations
- Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Understand and execute a variety of instructions
- Effectively operate equipment and communicate on and operate the phone system
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Travel to other work locations if required
