About the Position

This is an exceptional opportunity to shape the future of live production education and technical development. There is a key focus on growing revenue for our RTO by building partnerships with educational institutions industry groups and arts organisations. Youll also design skills development programs that raise industry standards and open up opportunities for new talent. Additionally youll manage the day-to-day operations of the Technical Training & Development team including scheduling programs delivering training conducting assessments and managing resources.

Full time ongoing position. Band 4.3 Salary $114173.28 per annum plus superannuation.

Your Qualifications Skills and Experience

  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment (or higher) or a diploma or higher-level qualification in adult education
  • Certificate IV in Live Production and Technical Services (or higher) and/or current industry experience to the same level
  • Management / leadership level experience within an entertainment industry technical production environment.
  • Experience with VET-based RTOs (Registered Training Organisation) and / or tertiary training institutions and current VET Quality Framework Standards for RTOs (2025)
  • Advanced technical skills across a range of technical production areas using current technology (lighting audio vision broadcast & common staging plant & equipment)
  • Experience in the design evaluation improvement and implementation of industry-based learning programs.
  • Confident communication and leadership skills enabling the effective engagement of all stakeholders
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Ability to develop budgets and deliver projects to budget and timelines
  • Operational experience with WH&S risk management process & common practices for live production
  • Ability to develop innovative solutions and new work methods to address challenges.
  • Excellent organisational presentation and training delivery skills

The Production business unit enables the high-quality delivery of live performances and events in any one of Arts Centre Melbournes five main venues and event spaces including The State Theatre The Playhouse The Fairfax Studio Hamer Hall & the iconic Sidney Myer Music Bowl.

The Production business unit comprises of Venue Operations Lighting Sound & Vision Staging Broadcast & Multimedia Corporate Events Production Management Wardrobe and Technical Training & Development.
