Job Summary

Safe Haven Talent is proud to be recruiting on behalf of our client a growing and ambitious childrens residential care provider that is entering an exciting phase of expansion. Their first homes are already open and they are preparing to launch additional homes over the coming year.

We are seeking a passionate experienced and dynamic Responsible Individual (RI) to provide exceptional leadership across multiple homes ensuring that each setting delivers safe compliant and high-quality care in line with Ofsted standards.

This is a pivotal leadership opportunity for someone who shares our clients vision of creating nurturing therapeutic environments where children can flourish emotionally socially and academically.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic oversight and leadership across multiple childrens residential homes.

  • Ensure all homes deliver safe nurturing and Ofsted-compliant care.

  • Work closely with Registered Managers to ensure excellence in daily operations.

  • Lead the setup Ofsted registration and inspection readiness of new homes (Homes 24).

  • Conduct regular site visits Regulation 44/45 reviews and quality assurance checks.

  • Foster a culture of transparency development and accountability among managers and staff.

  • Oversee staff supervision training and professional growth to maintain high standards.

  • Build and sustain collaborative relationships with Ofsted local authorities and partner agencies.

  • Drive continuous improvement through strategic planning and quality development.

Please note: As part of the application process all candidates must complete a brief eight-question yes/no assessment to help determine suitability and ensure key leadership competencies are met.



Requirements

  • Must live within a one-hour drive of Croydon and have access to a vehicle for regular home visits.

  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Responsible Individual or senior manager within childrens residential care.

  • Proven track record of achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted ratings.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Childrens Homes (England) Regulations 2015 Quality Standards and safeguarding frameworks.

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (Level 7 desirable).

  • Strong communication decision-making and problem-solving skills.

  • A natural leader who can inspire teams manage growth and uphold exceptional standards of care.

    Required Skills:

    Requirements Were looking for a dynamic leader who blends empathy with excellence and who thrives on building something meaningful from the ground up. Essential: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent). Minimum 2 years experience as a Registered Manager in an Ofsted-registered childrens home (EBD or similar). Proven track record of achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted ratings. Strong understanding of Childrens Homes Regulations and Quality Standards (2015). Robust safeguarding knowledge and ability to implement effective systems and processes. Excellent communication leadership and organisational skills. Desirable: Experience supporting children with EBD trauma or attachment difficulties. Previous involvement in registering or setting up a new childrens home.
