Job Summary
OVERVIEW
The purpose of this position is to provide exceptional customer service assisting with product inquiries and driving sales in a retail environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions
- Customer Service: Greet customers warmly assist them in finding products and address their inquiries to enhance their shopping experience. Build rapport with customers to encourage repeat business.
- Sales Transactions: Process sales transactions accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system handle cash and credit transactions and manage returns and exchanges.
- Product Knowledge: Maintain a thorough understanding of the stores products including features benefits and pricing to effectively inform and assist customers.
- Inventory Management: Assist in managing inventory levels by restocking shelves conducting stock checks and reporting low stock levels to management.
- Visual Merchandising: Help maintain the stores visual presentation by organizing merchandise displays according to company guidelines and ensuring the store is clean and inviting.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members to achieve sales targets and contribute to a positive team environment.

Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.

Organizational Skills: Good time management and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Flexibility: Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings weekends and holidays.

Level of Supervision: None
Travel Required: No
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education
- High school or G.E.D.
- Some college strongly desired.
Required Experience
- 1-2 years experience in a retail environment operating a cash register required.
- Must be professional and detail oriented.
- Must have excellent verbal communication skills to effectively interact with guests and employees.
- The role is dynamic and requires adaptability to changing customer needs and store promotions and policies.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Physical Requirements
- Walking climbing (Stairs) to access other departments and gift shops.
- Standing for long periods of time (4-6 hours).
- Pushing carrying lifting items and merchandise up to 40lbs waist high.
- Bending kneeling reaching to store stock retrieve merchandise and supplies.
- Reading sight wrist movements feeling to operate register conduct inventory inspect displays racks and merchandise.
- Talking hearing to instruct employees and assist guests in person and over the phone.
Eligibility Qualifications
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
