The Opportunity

Werelooking for a drivenSocial Media Coordinatorto join our 7NEWS team on the Sunshine Coast and help shape the future of regional storytelling across Australias leading news network.

Youll be based in our Maroochydore and willwork closely with local newsrooms the Digital Engagement Manager (Brisbane) the Regional QLD News Directorand the National Social Media Lead to produce and manage engaging content that supports the regional Queensland news agenda.

Whatyoulldo:

  • Drive content publishing across Facebook Instagram TikTok X and YouTube in collaboration with key newsroom and social media leaders.
  • Create tailoredsocial-first content with newsroom teams.
  • Manageand moderatesocial mediacommentary audience engagement andtrack and report on how posts perform.
  • Craft engaging written and visual content schedule posts andfolloweditorialguidelines andstandards.
  • Support staff onboarding and assistwith ad-hoc duties.

Whatyoullbring:

Yourea creative organised and digitally savvy individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Youllalso bring

  • A Bachelors degree in Media Communications Marketing Journalism or a related subject
  • 12 years experience in social media content creation
  • A strong attention to detail and a genuine passion for content news & current affairs
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • A confident communicator with a collaborative mindset and a drive to deliver high-quality work
  • Familiarity with editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro Quantel or Viz Story (preferred but not essential)
