Job Description:
We are seeking a Separately Managed Account (SMA) Product Manager to support the firms taxable and tax-exempt fixed income SMA products. This function acts as the hub for informing and implementing product strategy (including positioning branding and pricing) efficient distribution support analyzing market conditions and identifying gaps and opportunities to enhance and position products to maximize competitive advantages.
As the Product Manager you will be responsible for driving SMA product initiatives in the intermediary channel. You will be expected to be proficient at articulating a strategys value proposition investment process portfolio positioning and rationale for specific holdings within the portfolio. This individual works closely with the portfolio managers and acts as a liaison between the portfolio management team and both internal and external constituents on product-specific matters including providing analytical support for client needs. The individual also acts as a business manager for their strategies liaising with legal compliance marketing and other departments to help with content and other potential issues.
Responsibilities:
Support sales teams with SMA transition analysis requests client meetings and presentations with product expertise.
Offer expertise on fixed income SMA products and provide product-related support and insights.
Act as a firm-wide resource related to SMA product information competitive positioning market trends pricing trends etc.
Collaborate with National Accounts team on additional product placement to expand distribution.
Partner with investment teams and marketing to develop and maintain SMA product marketing content; drive product campaigns in coordination with sales marketing and investment teams ensuring all contributors are accountable for their deliverables and escalate when necessary to meet milestones.
Own strategic level messaging and positioning including product features client benefits investment merit and competitive differentiation for the target client.
Build an integrated view of the product landscape and opportunities using performance analyses client feedback competitive intelligence investment trends and industry developments.
Identify product gaps and opportunities to recommend SMA product launches development or repositioning initiatives and present recommendations for actionable business plans and campaigns.
Produce Ad-hoc competitive analysis to answer client inquiries regarding NB fixed income SMA strategies
Partner with Product Development on new launch and enhancements of existing products across regions/channels.
Establish processes for monitoring product performance product enhancements risk client experience and quality (e.g. portfolio management changes sales/marketing program benchmarks etc).
Communicate the status of product initiatives to senior management and internal partners.
Ensure products are optimized to meet performance and risk targets and client expectations; Recommending product rationalization as needed.
Contribute to developing the firms SMA product priorities roadmaps and establish measurable goals aligned to the business strategy.
Partner with investment operations to identify opportunities on improving process efficiencies of manager traded strategies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree required; MBA and/or CFA a plus
7 years in asset management with direct SMA Product Management/Product Specialist experience
Deep understanding of fixed income markets strategies and products (Treasuries IG/HY credit municipals etc.)
Strong knowledge of risk management and performance measurement methodologies
Proven track record managing complex cross-functional projects; able to influence stakeholders
Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills; comfort with financial modeling and data-driven decisions
Experience executing and reviewing retail SMA transition analyses
Strong verbal and written communication; able to translate concepts into clear actionable deliverables
Experience with third-party data/research tools (preferably Morningstar Cerulli Zephyr Perform Broadridge)
Strong knowledge of asset management industry trends and developments
Highly organized; excellent project/time management and planning; ability to multi-task
Able to collaborate across departments and functions
High degree of initiative and accountability; professionalism and integrity
Creative problem-solver and thought leader on new business opportunities

Compensation Details
The salary range for this role is $120000-$170000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in the job posting location. An employees pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including but limited to relevant education qualifications certifications experience skills seniority geographic location business sector performance shift travel requirements sales or revenue-based metrics market benchmarking data any collective bargaining agreements and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus which along with base salary and retirement contributions is part of our total comprehensive package. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off medical/dental/vision insurance retirement life insurance and other benefits to eligible employees.
Note: No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned vested and determinable.
