Quality Assurance Technician - Apple
Department: Quality Assurance
Status: Non-Exempt
Employee Classification: Regular Full-time
Reports To: Quality Assurance & Sanitation Manager
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Shift: 3:30pm to 3:30am 4 days a week (includes weekends)
Job Summary: Responsible for performing Quality Assurance testing and ensure Food Safety and Quality in Ever Fresh Fruit Products Raw Materials Packaging Equipment Facility etc.
Essential Functions:
- Create accurate records all conducted according to established policies and procedures.
- Responsible for maintaining GMPs throughout the facility both within the QA department and all other departments.
- Assist with Pre-operational inspections
- Provide Production support
- Monitor and adhere to HACCP plans reporting and performing corrective action when necessary
- Perform Product Quality testing (brix pH pressure USDA grades etc.)
- Perform Product documentation control scanning and filing
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to add subtract multiply and divide all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute ratio and percent.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.
Working Conditions/Physical Factors:
- Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions.
- Worker may be exposed to a loud working environment.
- Worker may be exposed to hazards in the workplace such as proximity to equipment conducting extreme heat moving parts and electrical current
- Must be able to work in environment containing allergens (nuts milk wheat etc.)
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time
- Occasionally required to use hands and fingers
- Frequently required to talk or hear
- Frequently required to taste and smell
- Frequently required to lift/push/pull/carry weight up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required for this job include: close vision distance vision and color vision.
