Collins Aerospace has an exciting opportunity for a Structural Analysis Engineer II to support its Power & Controls organization. This position will be at our Aguadilla PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered. This role is categorized as hybrid with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.

What You Will Do:

Conduct structural and thermal analysis of individual components functional systems technically advanced prototypes and specific products using FEA software and interpret these results on behalf of the design function providing pertinent advice.
Research plan analyze and provide inference about mechanical products and systems in areas including but not limited to mechanical thermal hydraulic thermodynamic or heat transfer for production transmission measurement and use of energy.
Applies research to the planning design development and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems instruments controls engines and/or machines.
May evaluate and analyze various mechanical products to determine their cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
May evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate malfunctions.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree 6 years of relevant experience.
2 years experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software (ANSYS ABAQUS or similar software) or Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).

Qualifications We Prefer:

BS in Mechanical Engineering
Experience in static and dynamic structural analysis including random vibrations shock fracture mechanics and crack propagation modal analysis
Experience in Siemens NX Visio SolidWorks software
Experience in design and analysis of heat exchangers
Desirable experience in CNC Manufacturing Mechanical Design. Experience interacting with Mechanical Computer Aided Design Resources (MCAD)
Project Engineering experience
Knowledge and Experience working Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Tolerance Stack up Calculation Weight Analysis etc.
Teamcenter (or other collaboration space) knowledge
SAP knowledge
Experience in Thermal Sciences (applied an analysis)
