Vice President- Application Modernization Practice Leader

The Leidos Digital Modernization Sector is seeking an Application Modernization Practice Leader Vice President at our Leidos Headquarters in Reston VA.

POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Leidos Application Modernization Vice President you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of our Application Modernization Practice Area within the Leidos Digital Modernization Sector. Youll be responsible for shaping our internal and external app modernization strategy and ensuring seamless execution of efforts supporting current and new clients. Your consultative approach will guide our clients toward innovative app modernization solutions enhancing their business operations and digital transformation journey.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
No initial clearance is required to start; however you must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance. (US Citizenship required)

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership:

• Develop and execute a robust app modernization strategy aligned with customer goals and objectives.
• Identify emerging trends technologies and best practices in app modernization particularly in low code/ no code cloud migration enterprise platforms and Everything as Code (EaC).
• Collaborate with senior leadership to define the vision and roadmap for the Application Modernization Practice.

Management:

• Lead mentor and inspire a team of application modernization architects and engineers cloud architects and engineers software developers user experience and consultants.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the practice.
• Ensure team members have the necessary resources and support to excel.

Engagement:

• Engage with clients to understand their app modernization needs and challenges.
• Provide thought leadership advising on app modernization including enterprise platforms cloud adoption and cloud migration.
• Build strong client relationships and act as a trusted advisor.

Development:

• Design and architect app modernization solutions based on industry standards and best practices.
• Evaluate and recommend enterprise platforms low code/no code solutions cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Azure Google Cloud) cloud migration best practices for specific use cases and use of everything as code for pipeline automation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative app modernization offerings including use of AI/ML to accelerate code development testing and configuration management.

Growth:

• Drive revenue growth by expanding our app modernization services portfolio.
• Identify new business opportunities and contribute to business development efforts.
• Monitor market trends and adjust the practice strategy accordingly.
• Meet and exceed sales quotas and targets.
• Lead and manage a sales team providing guidance support and motivation.
• Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to capture them.
• Prepare and deliver sales presentations to potential clients.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth.

Assurance and Compliance:

• Ensure adherence to security compliance and governance standards.
• Oversee quality assurance processes for modernization projects.
• Mitigate risks related to enterprise platform implementation and cloud modernization efforts.

Leadership and Training:

• Stay informed about app modernization industry advancements and certifications.
• Conduct internal training sessions to enhance team members skills.
• Participate in industry conferences and share insights with the community

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field (Masters preferred); additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
• Proven experience (at least 15 years) in Enterprise Application Migration/Modernization or related technology
• Strong knowledge of agile and DevSecOps best practices.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (PaaS and SaaS) containerization platforms microservices frameworks API management platforms low code/no code platforms and platform provider solutions.
• Excellent leadership communication and collaboration skills.
• Certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) AWS Certified Solutions Architect Google Professional Cloud Architect or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect are a plus.
