Responsibilities
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) at Light Street Special Education Solutions a division of LEARN Academy you play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of comprehensive special education services to children with special needs. Working under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist you collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to implement evidence-based interventions that promote students participation and success in their educational environment.
Your responsibilities span across various school settings interacting with teachers administrators parents and other therapy professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student care. You assist in evaluating students needs developing and implementing treatment plans and monitoring progress towards individualized education program (IEP) goals.
As part of Light Street Special Education Solutions you contribute to the companys mission of improving the quality and efficiency of special education services. Your work directly supports positive outcomes for students and strengthens partnerships with schools aligning with the organizations commitment to evidence-based practices and flexible solutions in special education.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Providing direct therapy services to students focusing on improving their functional abilities in areas such as fine motor skills sensory processing and activities of daily living.
- Collaborating with classroom teachers to integrate occupational therapy strategies into the educational curriculum.
- Assisting in the adaptation of learning environments and materials to enhance student participation and independence.
- Contributing to the IEP process by providing insights on student progress and recommending appropriate interventions.
- Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of student assessments interventions and progress.
- Participating in team meetings and professional development activities to stay current with best practices in school-based occupational therapy.

Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program
- Maintain AZ COTA license requirements
- Valid AZ IVP Fingerprint card
