Gardner-Webb University invites applicants for the full-time position of Administrative Assistant for the Office of Christian Life and Service. This position reports directly to the Vice President for Christian Life and Service and University Chaplain.

The Administrative Assistant supports the motto of the University Pro Deo et Humanitate and the mission of the Office of Christian Life and Service by fulfilling the Great Commission expanding the Kingdom of God and engaging in practical acts of service both locally and globally.

The Administrative Assistant ensures the efficient operation of the Office and assists with a variety of tasks related to ministry organization and communication.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist the Vice President for Christian Life and Service and University Chaplain in all aspects of the Dimensions program on a weekly basis and assist students with Dimensions records.

Responsible for correspondence scheduling maintaining records and electronic/physical mailings for the following ministries: Dimensions Summer Missions/Ministry Job Fair Connect Fair etc.

Assist the Vice President for Christian Life and Service and University Chaplain in corresponding with pastors churches and associational missionaries.

Assist the Associate Ministers to the University for Student Ministries Pastoral Care and Community Engagement and Athletic Ministries as needed.

Responsible for the handling of cash and check payments related to programs sponsored by the Office of Christian Life and Service (including mission trips).

Coordinates and maintain various data for use in the Office of Christian Life and Service.

Responsible for purchasing office supplies and materials.

Process purchase requisitions check requests and invoices.

Assist Campus Ministries United (CMU) student leaders with special function forms reserving transportation and facilities check requests cash advances reimbursements etc.

Lead and coordinate mission trips (Fall Spring or Summer) for undergraduate students and assists team leaders with all aspects of the mission trip (i.e. coordinate travel to and from the airport work with travel agents to secure flights maintain financial records for mission trips etc.).

Greet and assist visitors to the Office of Christian Life and Service and the Tucker Student Center.

Serve as a positive Christian role model for faculty staff and students.


Required Education Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

High school diploma or equivalent; Associates Degree preferred.

Previous experience in a related field is helpful.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel etc.).

Ability to effectively present information (oral and written) and respond to University students faculty staff and the Cleveland County community at large.

Ability to listen to students faculty and staff to help clarify needs.

Have a full knowledge of the range of services provided by the University for effective referral when needed.
