We are partnering with a well-established international financial institution to recruit a Head of External Reporting for their growing Warsaw office. The organization is recognized for its resilience innovation and commitment to financial integrity. Their Warsaw hub plays a strategic role in supporting global finance functions and fosters a culture of collaboration transparency and continuous improvement.
As Head of External Reporting you will be responsible for overseeing all external financial reporting activities across UK and EMEA entities. This includes the preparation of consolidated financial statements and approximately 30 solo entity reports ensuring full compliance with UK GAAP IFRS and relevant regulatory frameworks. The role offers the opportunity to lead a high-performing team engage with senior stakeholders and contribute to finance transformation initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing a team of approximately 10 legal entity controllers.
- Overseeing the preparation and submission of statutory accounts across multiple jurisdictions.
- Ensuring accuracy completeness and timeliness of disclosures and financial reports.
- Managing relationships with external auditors tax professionals and internal stakeholders.
- Partnering with senior finance leadership and the global controller to align reporting processes.
- Overseeing internal monthly Flash Reports and quarterly Board Packs.
- Maintaining strong internal controls in line with SOX requirements.
- Monitoring changes in accounting standards and implementing updates to reporting frameworks.
- Acting as the local Head of Finance for Poland engaging with tax authorities and vendors.
- Driving process improvements automation and system enhancements.
The ideal candidate will bring:
- A bachelors degree in Finance Accounting or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualification (CPA ACCA ACA or equivalent).
- At least 5 years of post-qualification experience in financial reporting.
- Extensive knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS; US GAAP experience is a plus.
- Proven experience preparing consolidated financial statements for multinational organizations.
- Background in financial services or brokerage environments is beneficial.
- Demonstrated leadership experience with a track record of managing teams and driving performance.
- Strong technical accounting expertise and practical business acumen.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficiency in financial systems (e.g. Oracle Financials) and advanced Excel skills.
- Fluency in English is essential; Polish language skills are a plus.
