The High School Academic Administrator directs and coordinates educational administrative and counseling activities of student by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.

  • Ensures conformance of educational programs to state and local school board standards through evaluation development and coordination activities;
  • As needed researches and implements non-K12 curriculum resources that meet state standards;
  • Manages teaching and administrative staff; Manages Master and Lead Teachers and programs;
  • Helps articulate the schools mission and vision with the aim of ensuring all stakeholders have a common understanding and are positioned to work cooperatively in order to achieve desired results; Utilizes/relies heavily upon communication technologies and practices that most effectively support a predominantly virtual / remote work environment;
  • Confers with teachers students and parents concerning educational and behavioral problems in school;
  • Coordinates with teacher and K12 Enrollment regarding expulsions and withdrawals;
  • Ensures that the school is meeting the needs of students while complying with local state and federal laws including laws pertaining to special education;
  • Develops and oversees implementation of the schools Academic Improvement Plan.
  • Develops and oversees CTE program

Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises 30-45 Full-time Equivalent (FTE) regular employees and/or contractors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing hiring and training employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters degree in business education or related field of study AND
  • Five (5) years of educational experience AND
  • One (1) year of supervisory experience OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to clear required background check

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrable leadership organizational and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint Project Visio etc.); Web proficiency.
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time
  • Experience as an on-line / virtual educator
  • State License as a School Administrator

DESIRED QUALIFICATION:

  • Experience working with proposed age group.
  • Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology.
  • Experience teaching in an online (virtual) and/or in a brick-and-mortar environment.
  • Experience with online learning platforms.

Compensation & Benefits: Stride Inc. considers a persons education experience and qualifications as well as the positions work location expected quality and quantity of work required travel (if any) external market and internal value when determining a new employees salary level. Salaries will differ based on these factors the positions level and expected contribution and the employees benefits elections. Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range.

  • This position is virtual but may require travel at least one day a week; additional district wide leadership PD once a month in Baton Rouge required
