Job Summary

About the Opportunity

Student will engage in biotechnology skills to help support ABE programming which includes buffer preparation agar plate preparation as well as aliquoting non-hazardous reagents.

Student will engage in independent research project exploring ABE program laboratory protocols including gel electrophoresis restriction digest ligation plating and hydrophobic interaction chromatography.

The student will also be learning SOPs in mass spectrometery. Educational goals are to Strengthen critical thinking skills via troublesheeting basic biotechnology skills (aforementioned). Build library and apply biotechnology laboratory SOPs. Increase hands-on experience with mass spectroscopy and chemical purity in the area of biopharmaceuticals. Develop and strengthen presentation skills via daily lab meetings maintenace of lab notebook and capstone project.
