Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a Senior Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Engineer to lead and support the planning design and delivery of BRT projects nationally. This senior-level role will be instrumental in shaping high-capacity transit corridors enhancing regional mobility and advancing sustainable transportation solutions.
The successful candidate will bring deep technical expertise in BRT systems strong leadership capabilities and a collaborative mindset to support AECOMs growing Transit-Rail practice.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead engineering efforts for BRT projects including roadway design drainage design maintenance of traffic station design civil/site grading and transit signal priority systems.
Serve as Project Manager and/or Technical Lead on complex BRT and multimodal transit projects.
Oversee multidisciplinary teams through all project phasesfrom conceptual design through construction.
Ensure compliance with FTA guidelines local agency standards and applicable codes.
Coordinate with transit agencies municipalities and stakeholders to ensure project success.
Develop and manage project budgets schedules and resource plans.
Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
Support business development efforts including proposal writing client engagement and strategic pursuits.
Qualifications :
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
BA/BS 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Professional Engineer (PE or .) license required (must obtain Texas PE certification within 18 months)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with transit infrastructure design including LRT BRT and commuter rail.
Familiarity with transit agencies and regional transportation priorities.
Experience in engineering project delivery including design and construction phases.
Strong understanding of engineering standards permitting and regulatory processes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams and delivering complex infrastructure projects.
Strong leadership communication and client relationship skills.
