Reporting to the Land & Resources Manager Natural Resources Analyst will assist with natural resources related projects and programs for the NR Department throughout the TH Traditional Territory. The incumbent will assist with various project components providing support to management of the natural resources department. This will include assessment of YESAB applications fish and wildlife harvest management plans land use planning mining and oil and gas activities citizen consultation and engagement etc. The incumbent will liaise with TH Councils and Advisory Committees responsible federal territorial and provincial agencies or governments Final Agreement Boards and Committees and other Yukon First Nations.
An Eligibility List may be established from this competition the duration of the eligibility list may be up to 12 months. The eligibility list may be used to fill future permanent full-time permanent part-time temporary full-time temporary part-time term or auxiliary on-call vacancies within the same department and classification based on the organizational needs by going the next highest ranked candidate until the eligibility list expires.

Essential Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Natural or Renewable Resources Management Environmental or Biological Sciences Conservation Management or equivalent combination of formal education training and related work experience.
- Familiarity with TH Federal and Territorial Government structures and legislation including regulations and policies as they apply to natural resource management in the Yukon.
- Experience with natural resource legislation and an understanding of how this relates to Final Agreement rights.
- Experience with desktop publishing and providing presentations to a variety of audiences including leadership technical agencies First Nations citizens and the general public.
- Project management including finance/ budgeting
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to effectively recommend suitable options and alternatives.
- Skills in research analysis report and proposal writing.
- Excellent writing skills.
Assets:
- Good interpersonal and conflict management skills.
- Proven ability to work independently with minimum supervision and within a team.
- Working knowledge and familiarity with the Umbrella Final Agreement and the TH Final Agreement and the various chapters associated with natural resource management.
- Knowledge of the history cultures traditional territory goals and aspirations of the Trondëk
Hwëchin.
Conditions of Employment:
- Class 5 Drivers License with clear drivers abstract.
- Standard First Aid certification.
- TH101 cultural awareness training.
