Job Summary

The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on all plant and building equipment. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience particularly in industrial laundry systems or large industrial machinery. You will work closely with the Chief Engineer and a team of 45 technicians to keep operations running efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on industrial machinery conveyors dryers and other mechanical systems.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical electrical and electronic issues to identify root causes of equipment jams or failures.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records of parts and repairs.
  • Coordinate with the Chief Engineer on inspections overhauls and scheduling of maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure proper inventory of machine parts and supplies.
  • Support and implement OSHA-compliant safety procedures and serve on the Safety Committee.
  • Assist and train maintenance staff on proper repair techniques and maintenance procedures.
  • Inspect equipment and monitor work quality to ensure efficient plant operations.
  • Perform occasional welding and fabrication as needed (approx. 5% of duties).

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance and electrical experience (required).
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) preferred.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills with the ability to read schematics.
  • Hands-on experience in industrial laundry manufacturing or heavy industrial equipment preferred.
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and compliance practices.
  • Excellent communication organizational and recordkeeping skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
