The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on all plant and building equipment. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience particularly in industrial laundry systems or large industrial machinery. You will work closely with the Chief Engineer and a team of 45 technicians to keep operations running efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on industrial machinery conveyors dryers and other mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical electrical and electronic issues to identify root causes of equipment jams or failures.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records of parts and repairs.
- Coordinate with the Chief Engineer on inspections overhauls and scheduling of maintenance tasks.
- Ensure proper inventory of machine parts and supplies.
- Support and implement OSHA-compliant safety procedures and serve on the Safety Committee.
- Assist and train maintenance staff on proper repair techniques and maintenance procedures.
- Inspect equipment and monitor work quality to ensure efficient plant operations.
- Perform occasional welding and fabrication as needed (approx. 5% of duties).
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance and electrical experience (required).
- Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) preferred.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills with the ability to read schematics.
- Hands-on experience in industrial laundry manufacturing or heavy industrial equipment preferred.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and compliance practices.
- Excellent communication organizational and recordkeeping skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
