What You Will Be Doing:
In this position you will be responsible for reviewing applications for financial assistance for individuals who need placement in assisted living homes. These applications are submitted through the General Relief and Temporary Assistance programs. You will work closely with supervisors and the Division of Public Assistance to ensure eligibility decisions are made accurately and on time. Once eligibility is determined you will authorize benefits and process monthly payments for assisted living services. You will also coordinate with assisted living providers to make sure all program requirements are followed and that submitted invoices are complete and accurate.

The Working Environment You Can Expect:
The office is located in Northeast Anchorage (1831 Bragaw Street). It is near Costco East High School various restaurants and a coffee shop. Parking is readily available at the office. You will work closely with other members in both the Division and the Department of Health. The position may involve occasional travel. There may be an opportunity for a hybrid telework schedule once your probation period has successfully passed.

High school graduation or equivalent:
AND
Three years of clerical experience with one year of experience in public health health care services senior services medical assistance programs health education nursing medical social work health services administration or a closely related field.

Substitution: College education from an accredited college with a course emphasis in social services or a related field may substitute for the required experience.
