Visy is powering the circular economy closing the loop between packaging remanufacturing and recycling. Over 75 years weve grown to 7000 employees and 150 global operations predominately in Australia and New Zealand.
We believe materials are not recycled until theyve been made into new products. We collect and sort recyclable materials like paper cardboard glass plastics and metals from households and businesses and locally remanufacture them back into new sustainable packaging. From cardboard boxes water bottles and jam jars to food and beverage cans we are using recycled content to power Australia and New Zealands food and beverage packaging industry.
Role details: We are looking for a State Accounting Manager to join our team based in Adelaide. You will be an integral member of the SA Finance team responsible for all facets of the accounting and financial functions while providing timely management & financial information to the Recycling team. This role will report into the Divisional Planning and Reporting Manager Visy Recycling.
What youll do:
As such youll prepare analyse and report the financials while providing commercial and financial support. Stride for continuous system and business process improvements. The positions primary responsibilities include delivering accurate and timely monthly management reports managing the mid-month estimate process and overseeing the month-end close.
Further to that you will be involved with but not limited to:
- Management reporting bi-monthly and monthly and drive improvements to the mid-month and month end processes
- Leadership guidance to one direct report.
- Facilitate the Capital Expenditure process
- Provide comparative analysis on reported results to determine key drivers and future state.
- Full responsibility for transactional account accruals and provisions ensuring integrity of data is correct and anomalies are investigated and reported accordingly.
- Balance sheet ownership with the timely completion of Reconciliations Journal entries FBT Return/reconciliation and relevant analysis as requested.
- Budgeting & Forecasting for your business units.
- Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and obtain/review quarterly balance sheet sign-offs from all Sites
- Business Partnering
What you will bring to the team:
You will have a CA/CPA qualification or working towards completion of these studies with a minimum of 3 years experience in Accountant roles. You would describe yourself as a quick learner someone who is a problem solver with a great eye for detail. Youre a self-motivated proactive and organized person with a real Can Do attitude. You enjoy a fast-paced working environment and can work well under pressure. You are a great communicator enabling you to form strong relationships with stakeholders on all levels. You will be tech savvy with advanced Excel skills and SAP experience would be advantageous.
