Job Summary
Winsert is seeking qualified candidates for aQuality Technicianin South Bend Indiana!
Pay: $21 - $27 per hour depending on experience
Shift: 1st Shift 7:00am - 3:30pm
The Quality Technician ensures parts are inspected properly according to customer specifications completed in a timely manner and after passing inspection shipped in a timely manner according to our customers needs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- First piece inspection and in-process records
- Perform customer dimensional layouts
- Problem solving and troubleshooting production processes
- Set-up master and correlate production floor gages with metrology lab gages
- Operation of metrology lab equipment (CMM Contour Form Scan Surface Tester Cleanliness Microscope Video Inspection)
- Blueprint reading and knowledge of GD&T
- Control chart interpretation Knowledge to know when a part should be reinspected
- Data entry and analysis of process studies into Microsoft Excel
- Incoming and Outgoing Audits
- Cleanliness Checks
- Assist in MSA studies machine capability studies
- Assist Quality Engineer in PPAP data collection
- Assist with calibrations: OD Masters & Plungers
- Troubleshoot measurement equipment
- Updating part measurement programs on: CMM Formscan and similar equipment
- Record management (first piece checks cleanliness tests)
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must have good time management skills problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Math skills (conversions geometry & general)
- Strong organizational skills attention to detail and complete records and documentation.
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills - ability to communicate with all levels of authority.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to actively move through production floor.
- Vision must be correctable to allow reading/viewing of documents and computer screen
- Hearing must be correctable to allow understanding of instructions and communication with others
- Mobility and coordination must allow for required tasks to be completed
- Must be able to lift a 35 lb. box from floor to a maximum height of 36 inches
- Physical (% of time): 25% - standing 15% - sitting 55% walking 5% bending
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- High school math skills in basic geometry and some trigonometry.
- Technical training/certification preferred.
