Job Summary

Requests will only be accommodated if approved by the facility at the time of booking. Call off Policy: Facility is allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks. Required Certifications: ACLS BLS Ratios: 1:5 Patient Population & Unit Details: The Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) unit has 26 beds and provides telemetry-capable care for hospitalized patients aged 65 and older. Staffed by specially trained Geriatric Resource Nurses along with nursing staff they focus on preserving both cognitive and physical function to help patients return to their pre-admission baseline. Summary of Required Skills: Clinicians must have MS/Tele experience and be proficient in starting IVs administering blood products and managing central peripheral & PICC lines. Required experience also includes heparin protocols dysrhythmia interpretation & management and remote telemetry monitoring Floating: While Prisma Health prioritizes keeping staff in their home unit agency staff are required to float to other units or campuses as needed. Floating is limited to areas where staff are qualified and have documented competencies. Charting: 1 yr of EPIC experience required Hospital Highlights: Prisma Health Richland Hospital is a regional teaching medical center in Columbia South Carolina. It is designated as a Level I Adult and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center and features 641 licensed beds. The hospital offers advanced specialty programs including cardiac care stroke and vascular services. It also houses an Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) unit for patients 65 at higher risk for complications staffed by a multidisciplinary team focused on mobility recovery and reducing length of stay.
