Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Surgical Services Director the Operating Room (OR) Nurse Manager provides leadership and oversight of daily operations within the OR. The Manager collaborates with Clinical Coordinators to promote departmental growth ensure patient satisfaction enhance physician relationships and maintain fiscal responsibility. This role directs and supervises the delivery of safe high-quality patient care in accordance with hospital policies vision and mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain clinical knowledge and competency across all areas within the department.
- Oversee daily operations including staffing scheduling and patient rounding to ensure excellent care and satisfaction.
- Partner with the Educator to facilitate ongoing competency development and staff education.
- Support Clinical Coordinators with admission and discharge coordination processes.
- Participate in recruitment interviewing and hiring of OR personnel.
- Conduct staff performance evaluations establish learning plans and complete annual reviews.
- Provide coaching counseling and implement disciplinary action as needed up to and including termination.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and national/specialty nursing standards.
- Evaluate patient outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Assist the Surgical Services Director with budget planning monitoring and cost control.
Experience & Education:
- 1 3 years RN Operating Room experience Required
- 4-year Bachelors Degree (BSN) Preferred
- Current New Hampshire RN License Required
- Will consider a strong RN Operating Room Charge Nurse.
