About the job

Advantra is partnering with an early-stage AI productivity startup in San Francisco to hire a Generalist Engineer to work across technical and non-technical domains and help build a high-impact AI workspace.

About the role

You will contribute to a wide range of projects both technical and strategic. You will help solve complex problems rapidly switch contexts and support the team in building core product features infrastructure and workflows. You will work closely with founders and a small high-performing team.

Responsibilities

1. Solve technical and non-technical problems across the organization.
   

2. Build and iterate on core product features and infrastructure.
   

3. Rapidly switch between different tasks and project areas.
   

4. Collaborate with founders and team members on strategy and execution.
   

5. Contribute to product vision roadmap and design decisions.
   

6. Support the team in scaling systems and processes.
   

7. Take ownership of high-priority initiatives end-to-end.
   

8. Maintain a high level of quality and reliability in all work.
   

Core requirements

1. Prior experience founding or co-founding a startup.
   

2. Ability to handle fast-paced high-intensity environments.
   

3. Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to take ownership.
   

4. Broad technical knowledge across multiple domains.
   

5. Proven track record of delivering results in ambiguous situations.
   

6. High ambition and competitive drive.
   

7. Comfort working in small close-knit teams.
   

8. Willingness to work in person in San Francisco.
   

9. Experience with product development and rapid iteration.
   

10. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
    

Nice to have

1. Experience with AI or agent-based systems.
   

2. Familiarity with web and full stack development.
   

3. Background in data infrastructure or cloud systems.
   

4. Prior startup or high-growth company experience.
   

5. Exposure to open-source or community projects.
