Seeking a professional detail-driven Quantity Surveyor to join a multidisciplinary environment and collaborate closely with Architecture and Engineering teams. You will own cost planning tendering commercial administration and final account close-out across building and infrastructure projects ensuring accuracy value and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review and evaluate design documentation for completeness and cost impact.
- Prepare preliminary and detailed estimates cost plans and feasibility assessments.
- Compile bills of quantities (BoQs) and full contract documentation.
- Lead tender processes: measurement pricing and financial evaluation of tenders.
- Administer project financials including cash flow forecasts cost reports variation/change orders valuations and contractual claims.
- Prepare negotiate and agree interim and final accounts.
- Attend and contribute to client design and site meetings; issue minutes and action items as needed.
- Formulate review and analyse repair estimates; prepare viability studies damage costings and determine value at risk.
- Liaise and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (Project Managers Architects Engineers and QS) to resolve commercial and technical queries.
- Uphold quality assurance standards and document control best practices.
- Manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment; proactively escalate risks or constraints.
Requirements
- BTech or BSc in Quantity Surveying.
- Professional registration (e.g. SACQSP) required.
- 610 years post-qualification experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
- Proficiency with WinQS and DimX plus strong MS Excel and MS Word skills.
- Valid drivers license.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred/Advantageous
- Experience across commercial residential industrial or public-sector projects.
- Strong knowledge of South African standard forms of contract and procurement routes.
- Proven track record in estimating budgeting procurement cost control and quality assurance.
- Ability to operate independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
