Job Summary
Journeyman level clerical-accounting work. Reviews processes and maintains accounting or fiscal records. This is an entrance level class and lies below that of Account Technician and Payroll Technician Trainee.
Essential Functions
1. Prepares reviews processes and/or maintains purchase orders requisitions check requests field orders change ordersand other accounting or fiscal documents records and files.
2. Codes fiscal documents for posting into automated accounting system.
transactions to proper accounts.
data for fiscal reports and statements.
periodic summary reports.
balances and audits financial data and accounting records.
and leave reports and prepares payrolls and payvouchers.
funds prepares deposits and reconciles bank statements.
data into automated accounting systems.
correspondence.
other duties as assigned.
Probation: Six (6) months
Qualifications
Open Requirements:A two (2) year combination of education and accounting or bookkeeping experience which includes experience in at least one (1) of the following areas: accounts payable (posting and/or paying on accounts) accounts receivable payroll bank telling/cashiering and bank statement reconciliation/financial analysis for multiple accounts. Must be bondable.
Successful completion of a high school vocational/technical school or college-level Bookkeeping course may substitute for six (6) months of the required experience. Three (3) semester hours of successfully completed college-level accounting course work may substitute for six (6) months of required accounting or bookkeeping experience. General Accounting I & II together may substitute for Principles of Accounting I and are together equivalent of one (1) three (3) semester hour college-level accounting course.

- Strong accounting and fiscal records maintenance skills
- Ability to post figures accurately
- Ability to match names and numbers
- Ability to file both numerically and alphabetically
- Ability to read understand and apply written instructions and job-related policies and procedures
- Ability to transcribe legibly and neatly
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with fellow workers administrators and customers
