The Lab Technician role at Lab Alley provides essential support to a rapidly growing e-commerce company by maintaining laboratory operations ensuring safety and contributing to the quality control of high-purity chemicals. This position offers the opportunity to develop skills in laboratory maintenance chemical handling and documentation directly supporting the companys mission to supply essential raw materials globally.

Responsibilities: What Youll Do

We believe in clear expectations and these are the core responsibilities that will define your success in this role:

Laboratory Maintenance and Safety:

  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the laboratory chemical storage areas and equipment.
  • Perform routine cleaning washing and sterilization of glassware tools and work surfaces.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and calibration checks on basic laboratory equipment
  • Strictly adhere to all laboratory safety protocols including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) handling of hazardous materials and proper waste disposal (chemical and general).
  • Maintain and update Safety Data Sheets and other essential safety documentation.

Documentation and Administrative Support:

  • Accurately record all experimental data sample information and maintenance logs.
  • Support administrative tasks as needed such as filing organizing documentation and preparing reports.
  • Prepare standard chemical solutions and dilutions perform quality analysis and draft COA.
  • Assist in production of high purity water perform quality analysis and draft COA.
  • Assist in the preparation and quality control documentation for outgoing product shipments.

Qualifications & Expertise: What Youll Bring

  • Proven experience (1 years) working in a laboratory or chemical handling environment (e.g. academic industrial or manufacturing setting).
  • Solid understanding of basic laboratory techniques and equipment (weighing measuring pipetting solution preparation).
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols including chemical hygiene and proper handling of hazardous materials.
  • Strong computer literacy for data entry and recordkeeping.
  • Exceptional attention to detail accuracy and organizational skills.

Preferred:

  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Chemistry Biology Medical Technology or a related scientific field.
  • Familiarity with Food Grade Organic Kosher or high-purity chemical standards.
  • Familiarity with chemical analysis titrations and good laboratory practices.
  • Some experience in drafting SOPs for chemical analysis and analytical instruments.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand walk and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move packages or materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment including respirator .

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week occasional overtime) with a typical schedule of Monday-Friday 8 AM - 5 PM. This role reports to the Chemist.
