Job Description Summary

We are seeking for a Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse for a 13-week assignment supporting diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral vascular procedures. The RN will manage a daily caseload of 8 12 cases assist with coronary diagnostics/interventions pacemakers and peripheral procedures and support procedural sedation and post-procedure recovery. Minimum 2 years Cath Lab experience required; first-time travelers are accepted with sufficient experience.

Responsibilities
  • Circulate and assist during diagnostic and interventional Cath Lab procedures

  • Monitor patients during procedural sedation including end-tidal CO

  • Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias

  • Perform sheath removal/monitoring and manage vascular closure devices

  • Administer cardiac and emergency medications per protocol

  • Assist with central line/port care IV therapy and blood product administration

  • Support pacemaker and EP procedures as assigned

  • Maintain strict infection prevention radiation/laser safety and isolation practices

  • Provide pre- and post-procedure patient care and education

  • Document care accurately (Epic preferred)

Key Requirements
  • Active RN license

  • Minimum 2 years recent Cardiac Cath Lab RN experience

  • BLS and ACLS required

  • Comfortable with on-call and weekend coverage

  • Ability to manage high-volume Cath Lab workflows

  • Epic experience preferred

  • RTO must be disclosed and approved at submission

Qualifications Education
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Experience
  • 2 years Cardiac Cath Lab RN experience

  • Experience with coronary diagnostics/interventions and peripheral vascular procedures

  • Exposure to EP/pacemaker workflows preferred

License
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

Skills
  • Cath Lab Procedures: Diagnostic & interventional caths PCI stent placement left/right heart caths

  • Vascular: Angioplasty peripheral diagnostics/interventions closure devices (Perclose/StarClose)

  • Monitoring: ACT dysrhythmia interpretation end-tidal CO

  • Sedation: Procedural sedation administration/monitoring reversal agents

  • Access & Lines: Central lines/ports PICC care (preferred) IV therapy

  • Equipment: IABP/Impella (preferred) Swan-Ganz monitoring

  • EP: Cardioversion pacemaker insertion/programming (preferred)

  • Safety: Infection prevention radiation/laser safety

  • Workflow: Pre/Post procedure care case turnover efficiency

  • EMR: Epic (preferred)
