Job Summary
6 months contract with a local authority
- The purpose of this role is to manage projects including Meridian Water Phases 1 and 2 within the Housing Development Programme contributing to the delivery of new homes in alignment with the Councils objectives to provide over 3500 new affordable homes by 2029. This position offers an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant forward-thinking and proactive team. The Senior Development Manager will work as part of the councils Development team to develop and deliver high-profile construction projects across the borough focusing on physical social and environmental projects as well as budget management and viability assessment.
- Lead the development of major projects to support the Councils objectives under the AHP 21-26 programme and modular build for temporary accommodation.
- Project manage the delivery of development sites including scheme development and procurement of delivery partners.
- Lead major projects that deliver wider regeneration and socio-economic development outcomes.
- Build and develop key strategic partnerships at a senior level including Government departments GLA and developers to maximize and secure sustainable delivery.
- Lead the commissioning of appropriate internal and external technical and specialist resources required for delivery.
- Manage promotional activities related to regeneration delivery to enhance the regional and national profile of regeneration projects.
- Proven experience in leading the development of projects including MMC elements with a sound understanding of the technical legal commercial and socio-economic factors influencing major projects.
- Experience in creating business plans appraisals and financial models.
- Experience in preparing and implementing delivery plans for large and complex regeneration projects.
- Experience in negotiating development agreements and professional appointments for large and complex regeneration schemes.
- Degree qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant subject such as Surveying Planning or Construction Management.
- Working hours: 36 hours per week
- Hybrid working: Expectation to be on-site/office-based 1 to 2 days per week with flexibility on both sides.
