Medical Records Clerk Summary: As a Medical Records Clerk you will uphold our Mission Vision and Values. This position supports the electronic medical records (EMR) system by coordinating incoming documents for all ODHS sites using EMR. Must work closely with all site supervisors providers and staff to ensure the flow and accuracy of information meets their needs and contributes to organizational objectives. Process requests for records. After successful training and completion of the first 90 days this role will have the potential for hybrid remote work. A hybrid remote schedule for this role would be 2-3 days in office and 2-3 days working from home. This role is full time 40 hours a week. The schedule will be 8a to 4:30p with a 30 minute lunch. Responsibilities (How this position enhances our Mission Vision and Values) Mission Improve the Quality of Life of Others: - Process all incoming clinical faxes and mail.
- Prepare inactive records for storage and destruction per policy.
Vision ODHS preferred partner in East Central Indiana for improving the well-being of individuals and the communities in which they live: - Ensure incoming documents are routed to the proper patient chart and the appropriate staff for review.
- Capture electronic medical information to meet legitimate requests from courts attorneys patients healthcare providers disability determinations and other agencies.

- Participates in regular EMR meetings and provide updates are required.
- Performs miscellaneous duties.

Education and Experience: - High School diploma or GED equivalency preferred.
- Requires experience in scanning documents into electronic medical records systems along with experience in medical records. Preference will be given to those that have experience working with EMR.

- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Able to work with a high degree of precision paying attention to detail to achieve the high level of accuracy required.

Physical and Environmental Requirements: - Requires standing walking or sitting for long periods of time. Occasional bending stretching or lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Requires the ability to work under stressful situations.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range or use of approved adaptive equipment
