At Relativity Space were building rockets to serve todays needs and tomorrows breakthroughs. OurTerran R vehicle will deliver customer payloads to orbit meeting the growing demand for launchcapacity. But thats just the start. Achieving commercial success with Terran R will unlock newopportunities to advance science exploration and innovation pioneering progress that reaches beyondthe known.
Joining Relativity means becoming part of something where autonomy ownership and impact exist at every level. Here youre not just executing tasks; youre solving problems that havent been solved before helping develop a rocket a factory and a business from the ground up. Whether youre in propulsion manufacturing software avionics or a corporate function youll collaborate across teams shape decisions and see your work come to life in record time. Relativity is a place where creativity and technical rigor go hand in hand and your voice will help define the stories were writing together. Nowis a unique moment in time where its early enough to leave your mark on the product the process andthe culture but far enough along that Terran R is tangible and picking up momentum. The mostmeaningful work of your career is waiting. Join us.
About the Team:
Relativity Space pioneered large-scale additive manufacturing with our Terran 1 rocket the largest 3D-printed object to fly. Now a distinct business unit within Relativity Horizon Manufacturing Technologies is advancing next-generation manufacturing for aerospace and beyond. The team operates at the frontier of manufacturing innovation where creativity meets capability. This is an environment where cutting-edge R&D is put into production industrializing advanced manufacturing capabilities to solve customer problems. Youll work alongside welders robotics engineers data scientists and systems engineers at the intersection of hardware and software creating an end-to-end additive manufacturing platform that serves a wide variety of applications. From exploring new materials to unlocking faster print speeds to designing complex organic geometries that cant be built any other way its high-impact work that sets the foundation for the future of advanced manufacturing
About the Role:
- Develop implement and refine multiphysics simulation models for metal additive manufacturing processes using commercial and custom software.
- Perform calibration verification and validation of simulation models using experimental/physical testing data from AM builds.
- Support development of automated workflows for parametric studies uncertainty quantification and sensitivity analyses using scripting languages and high-performance computing.
- Prepare detailed documentation reports and presentations to communicate model findings limitations and recommendations to stakeholders. Collaborate with process materials design and manufacturing teams to translate simulation insights into actionable process changes.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in AM process modeling simulation methodologies and additive manufacturing process control.
About You:
- BS or higher in Mechanical Engineering Materials Science Welding Engineering or equivalent field.
