Job Summary

Ultra-met is a cemented tungsten carbide manufacturer. Our parts are utilized in a variety of manufacturing industries everything from automotive aviation aerospace mining drilling metal and wood turning to name a few.
Experience inspecting various manufactured parts with tight tolerances is required.

Prior work with Mechanical Inspection toolsis required. (for example: Optical Comparator/Micrometers/Calipers/Height Gauges)

History of utilization of equipmentsuch as: Keyence CMM and Stereo-Microscope is preferred.

This is an exciting opportunity to be a key member of a growing team committed to ensuring that our parts meet the requirements of our diverse customer base.

Your duties will include the following:

  • Utilizing measurement tools to validate physical properties and confirm dimensional features are within tolerance.
  • Reading and understanding blueprints including GD&T.
  • Using microscopes to inspect parts for defects.
  • Operating Optical Comparator/Coordinate Measuring Machines/Keyence measuring devices.
  • Identifying and quarantining parts for further evaluation.
  • Documenting and inputting data measurement results.
  • Communicating verbal and written information in a concise and well-understood manner
  • Participating in training to improve/develop inspection skills and abilities.
