The Opportunity
Step into a career that makes a real difference! Asteron is seeking a Trainee Case Manager to join our dynamic claims team in a full-time permanent role. This is an exceptional entry-level opportunity for someone ready to launch their career in the life insurance industry. Youll be trained to assess and manage low-touch and non-active disability claims working within our trusted claims philosophy to deliver outstanding service and support to our clients.
In this role youll build meaningful relationships with claimants guiding them through recovery and return-to-work plans with empathy clarity and professionalism. Youll learn to interpret policy definitions evaluate medical and financial evidence and contribute to the smooth progression of claims. With strong communication and problem-solving skills youll become a key player in ensuring our clients feel heard supported and empowered throughout their journey.
Were looking for someone with a keen eye for detail excellent time management and a genuine ability to connect with vulnerable individuals. Prior claims experience is a bonusbut not essential. If youve worked in customer service or admin and are ready to grow well provide the training and mentorship to help you thrive. Your Story

Prior claims experience is preferred but not essential - this is a development role.
Exposure to customer service and/or administrative roles is advantageous.
Knowledge of the Life Insurance Industry including processes and products is desired.
Attention to detail
Ability to deal with vulnerable and strong empathy skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent time management
Excellent negotiation skills
Ability to establish supportive client relationships and effectively monitor clients plans
Problem solving capabilities
Tertiary qualification in health sciences case management or related field (preferred but not essential)
Some accounting skills desirable
Medical training is desirable
