School Food and Nutrition Services (SFNS) Technician

5 hour Position Forder Elementary

2025-2026

Position Summary:

Responsible for preparing food items. Operates kitchen equipment and follows safety and sanitation procedures to serve food.

Qualifications:

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
2-5 years of job-related preferred.
Required to become ServSafe Certified within 6 months of employment with renewal every 5 years.
Ability to effectively operate computer and use departmental software.
Ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships

Essential Job Functions include the following:

Food preparation which involves using various food service equipment and following standardized recipes
Cold food preparation sandwich and salad preparation cutting and portioning food items
Meal set-up placement of food items utensils and condiments
Serving food items
Daily cash record keeping and operating student point of sale
Clean-up operation of dish machine and washing of pots and equipment. Sweeping and mopping floors
Recording food and equipment temperatures
Completing daily production records
Assist with inventory ordering and putting away stock
Back-up manager-ability to manage the kitchen in absence of the manager
Additional duties as assigned
Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
Applicants must be flexible in scheduled hours
Other duties may be assigned

COMPENSATION FOR EXPERIENCE IS CONSIDERED 2025-2026 Classified Salary Schedule
