About the Job
Were looking for a Software Engineer to join the Ansible Content Team with a focus on cloud integrations AI-driven automation and ansible automation platform this role youll contribute to Ansible Collections modules and plugins that power automation for cloud services while also helping shape the future of the Ansible Automation Platform.
Youll collaborate closely with engineers product managers and community contributors to design implement and maintain high-quality automation content. Youll also have opportunities to explore AI/ML-powered automation applying innovative approaches to improve developer productivity and user experience.
As a Software Engineer in the Ansible organization you will be working with geographically dispersed technical team members to analyze design develop debug and deliver new products and feature functionality for the Ansible offerings contributing to open source projects and engaging with the Ansible community. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your skills while working with modern technologies frameworks and languages within Red Hats unique culture.
What Youll Do
Develop and maintain Ansible content (collections modules plugins) for cloud providers and enterprise integrations.
Contribute to the Ansible Automation Platform building features that improve scale performance and usability.
Explore and prototype AI-assisted automation workflows and integrate them into the Ansible ecosystem.
Participate in Scrum ceremonies (planning stand-ups retrospectives) and collaborate with teammates to deliver sprint goals.
Collaborate with open source communities review contributions and mentor contributors.
Write and maintain tests documentation and release notes to ensure high-quality deliverables.
Partner with the broader Ansible engineering organization to drive cross-team initiatives.
What Youll Bring
2 years of software engineering experience.
Strong programming skills in Python (preferred) or Go.
Familiarity with Ansible (as a user or contributor) infrastructure automation or configuration management.
Hands-on experience with cloud providers (AWS Azure GCP) and their APIs/SDKs.
Understanding of Scrum/Agile practices and experience working in iterative development cycles.
Knowledge of software engineering best practices: testing CI/CD version control (git) code reviews.
Interest in AI/ML technologies and curiosity to apply them in automation workflows.
Strong collaboration and communication skills comfortable working in distributed teams.
Open source contribution experience is a plus.

The salary range for this position is $94550.00 - $151170.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.Pay Transparency
Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location experience applicable skills and training external market value and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hats compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus commission and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
