Technician I Emergency/Exit Lighting

The Technician I Emergency Exit Lighting is responsible for assisting with the installation inspection maintenance and repair of emergency and exit lighting systems including lighting inverters at customer locations. This role ensures systems are fully operational code-compliant and provides a safe and professional experience for customers.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist in the installation inspection testing and servicing of emergency and exit lighting systems.
• Perform battery testing and load testing to verify proper charge and ensure units operate for the code-required 90 minutes.
• Document inspection results service activities and create invoices for customer visits.
• Discuss products and system functionality with customers to ensure satisfaction and answer questions.
• Support senior technicians on more complex installations or repairs.
• Maintain company vehicles tools and equipment in good working order.
• Follow all company safety procedures and job site protocols.
• Provide professional and courteous service at all times while representing the company.

Job Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; electronics or electrical background preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and interest in low-voltage systems preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Dependable punctual and able to work at varying start times.
• Valid drivers license and clean driving record required.
• Ability to pass background check to obtain PERC certification.

Physical Requirements:

• Comfortable working at heights and on ladders.
• Ability to lift up to 90 lbs. regularly.
• Ability to kneel bend and perform repetitive physical tasks during installations and inspections.

Required Experience:

• 01 year of experience in emergency lighting electrical or related field preferred.
• Experience with low-voltage systems battery-operated devices or mechanical systems a plus.
