Job Summary

Were seeking a senior engineer for a key client-facing role specialising in DevOps Azure Cloud and Databricks platforms. Youll be responsible for the hands-on delivery and management of automated scalable and secure cloud platforms for our clients.

This is a deeply technical client-facing role. Youll champion DevOps principles implementing robust CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC). Youll be the senior technical expert with a strong focus on large-scale Databricks integrations and driving significant cloud cost optimisation through superior platform governance and automation.

The Senior Databricks & Azure Platform Engineer is responsible for building managing and optimising automated CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure data and analytics workloads. This role takes hands-on ownership of the Azure platform engineering secure scalable and resilient environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC). The engineer leads the implementation configuration and management of large-scale Azure Databricks integrations ensuring performance reliability and cost efficiency. A key part of the role includes driving cloud cost optimisation initiatives delivering up to 3040% reductions in Azure spend through governance automation and platform improvements. Acting as the senior technical advisor for clients the engineer manages stakeholder relationships and ensures that platform solutions align with business objectives. Additionally the role involves championing automation and DevOps practices managing Azure security governance incident response and ongoing platform support to maintain operational excellence.


Qualifications :

  • Extensive Experience: in a similar role as a Databricks Platform Engineer
  • DevOps Expertise: Strong proven background in DevOps principles CI/CD automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Azure Expertise: Deep hands-on specialisation in Azure platform engineering including infrastructure security networking and cost management.
  • Databricks Expertise: Proven hands-on experience with large-scale Azure Databricks integrations administration and performance optimisation.
  • Proven Cost Savings: A demonstrated track record of achieving significant quantifiable reductions in Azure cloud spend.
  • Client-Facing Skills: Exceptional communication stakeholder management and client delivery skills.
  • Certifications: Professional certifications in Microsoft Azure (e.g. Azure DevOps Engineer Azure Solutions Architect) or Databricks.
  • BI/Analytics Familiarity: Experience supporting BI and analytics tools that consume data from Databricks (e.g. Power BI Tableau Alteryx).
  • Multi-Cloud: Hands-on experience with other cloud environments (e.g. AWS).
