Job Summary

Responsible for selecting and fitting hearing aids for customers. Administers and interprets tests of hearing. Assesses hearing instrument efficacy. Takes ear impressions and prepares designs and modifies ear molds.

Essential Functions

-Tinnitus evaluations counseling and treatment

-Monitor patients progress and provide ongoing observation of hearing or balance status.

-Fit dispense and repair assistive devices such as hearing aids.

-Educates patients caregivers and family members on treatment options and continuing care.

-Research causes and potential treatments for hearing and balance disorders.

Qualifications

Education

Doctorate Audiology required

Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree No

Licenses and Credentials

Audiologist License State License required
Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
CH-TM preferred

Experience

Audiology or hearing testing experience 1-2 years preferred

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

Strong patient/customer service skills.
Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills.
DPOAE ABR hearing aid evaluation dispensing and follow-up and using electronic health records for documentation.
