Are you a compassionate and dedicated nurse looking to make a meaningful impact in pediatric perioperative care The Johns Hopkins Hospital invites you to consider joining our renowned Pediatric Preoperative and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit. As a 32-bed unit we provide comprehensive pre- and post-surgical care to children from birth to 25 years of age covering a wide range of surgical services including Neurosurgery Orthopedics Plastic Surgery ENT Ophthalmology Pulmonary GI Urology Renal Dermatology and General Pediatric Surgery.
Our unit specializes in caring for surgical patients requiring anesthesia or sedation for procedures such as MRI CT scans interventional radiology non-invasive radiology and cardiovascular imaging and labs (CVIL). We operate 24/7 with dedicated staff providing uninterrupted care for up to four overnight extended surgical recovery patients.

Role: Pediatric Perioperative Care Team Registered Nurse
Shifts: 12-hour Day Shift ( On Call and Weekend Work Required)
Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive preoperative assessments and education to pediatric patients and their families.
Prepare patients for surgery ensuring safety and comfort.
Deliver post-operative care monitoring recovery and managing pain.
Assist with anesthesia induction airway management and vital sign stabilization.
Collaborate with surgical teams anesthesiologists and other healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care.
Document patient care activities accurately and thoroughly.
Respond promptly to patient needs and emergent situations.
Maintain a safe supportive and child-friendly environment.
Qualifications:
BSN/MSN from an accredited nursing program preferred. Applicants with an Associates degree in nursing from an accredited program may be considered if enrolled in an accredited BSN/MSN program within one year of hire and completing the degree within five years.
Active Maryland or Compact RN license required.
BLS CPR certification (AHA Red Cross or Military Training Network accepted).
Minimum of one year of RN experience ( pediatric experience preferred)

Salary Range: Minimum 36.31/hour - Maximum 56.28/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
