Job Summary

Mission

QSAC is a New York City and Long Island based nonprofit that supports children and adults with autism together with their families in achieving greater independence realizing their future potential and contributing to their communities in a meaningful way by offering person-centered services. QSAC pursues this mission through direct services that provide a supportive and individualized setting for children and adults with autism to improve their communication socialization academic and functional skills.

Job Summary

If you take pride in cleanliness organization and safety then you may be a fit to work in our Bronx School as a part of the QSAC team! The School Custodian is responsible for upholding the safety and appearance of the physical school location in the Bronx NY.

This is a part time position.

The salary range for this position is $16.50-$20.00 an hour.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Building Maintenance

  • Adhere to building/maintenance/codes to ensure health safety & welfare of facilities individual and employees
  • Maintain cleanliness throughout facilities completing assigned checklists that include daily weekly and monthly detail
  • Maintain adequate inventory of supplies and use responsibly
  • Demonstrate safety and care of equipment and suppliesto protect from damage and theft
  • Complete projects including moving furniture deliveries painting plastering an efficient and timely manner.
  • Responsibilities include but limited to cleaning bathrooms/kitchen mopping sweeping and/or vacuuming floors Hygienic cleaning and garbage collection and removal.

Policies & Communication

  • Utilize troubleshooting skills to determine best way to fix problems and communicate delays or emergency reassignments to supervisor
  • Respond promptly to program needs throughout facility
  • Identify problems in the facility and inform supervisor as soon as they are discovered
  • Work independently in the building staying focused on assigned tasks and priorities
  • Prioritize work to complete time sensitive issues first
  • Report to work for snow removal as needed
  • Maintain family and individual confidentiality
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors and/or senior management

Qualifications & Work Experience

  • High school diploma/GED preferred
  • Must have 1-2 years general maintenance and facility cleaning skills
  • Drivers license highly preferred
  • Requires the ability to read write and communicate effectively with others
  • Attendance and punctuality is essential
  • Collaboration and flexibility is expected
  • Commitment to company values and adherence to policies
