Equitable is currently looking to hire a Paralegal for our Commercial Transactions team which is a part of Equitables Legal and Compliance organization. As a key member of the team this role would be primarily responsible for drafting and negotiating a wide range of contracts including services consulting marketing licensing non-disclosure data privacy and other commercial related agreements under the supervision of one or more attorneys

Responsibilities:

As a paralegal in the Commercial Transactions teams your primary responsibilities would be:

  • The drafting and negotiating a wide range of contracts including services consulting marketing licensing non-disclosure data privacy and other commercial related agreements under the supervision of one or more attorneys
  • Understanding the Company and products in order to identify risks develop solutions mitigation and negotiation strategies
  • Inputting of completed contracts into the contract management system and capture key terms
  • Utilizing a variety of platforms to assist the team with the contract management process and guidelines
  • Other related duties as assigned

The base salary range for this position is $85000 - $95000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills experience and geographical addition to base pay Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases spot bonuses and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Paralegal Certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional team-player with a willingness to take initiative.
  • Ability to develop and maintain established relationships with key internal stakeholders system account manager and support team.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel Word and other Microsoft applications.
  • Flexible and willing to respond to unanticipated issues and constantly reprioritize based on business demands
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and strong ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others

Skills:

Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.

Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit receive and accurately interpret ideas information and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives projects groups or activities making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
