Job Summary
The Central Science Team within Amazons People Experience and Technology org (PXTCS) uses economics behavioral science statistics and machine learning to proactively identify mechanisms and process improvements which simultaneously improve Amazon and the lives well-being and the value of work to Amazonians. We are an interdisciplinary team which combines the talents of science research design and engineering to develop and deliver solutions that measurably achieve this goal.
Our team is looking for a UX Designer that is passionate about designing global products that are intuitive and bring value to peoples lives. You seek to empathize and understand your users needs then translate those needs into specific experiences and designs. You thrive on informed iteration in order to design experiences that work at scale. You have an impeccable design sense and a keen eye for detail and craft. Collaboration is in your DNA but you arent afraid prioritize make decisions and communicate with authority.

Key job responsibilities
Work closely with cross-functional teams and collaborate to define and produce solutions for real customer problems.
Support your design work using all available insights including quantitative data and site metrics customer feedback and usability findings.
Advocate for and follow user-centered design principles.
Develop conceptual diagrams wireframes detailed visual mockups and prototypes to communicate high-level design strategies and detailed interaction behaviors.
Responsibly and effectively advocate for the customer in a corporate environment; fostering a shared understanding of the customer-centric intersection between design content business and marketing values.
Present to business and design leadership.
Scope design initiatives and manage/prioritize work items.
- 6 years of design experience
- Have an available online portfolio
- Experience with design tools such as Photoshop Illustrator and InDesign and prototyping in HTML JavaScript CSS Ajax
- Experience applying scrum to visual or UX design processes
- Experience with UX design of complex workflows

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
