Company Overview:
Our client is a leading Project Management Consultancy (PMC) firm providing integrated project delivery cost management and advisory services across diverse sectors including commercial residential industrial and infrastructure developments.
We are seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor to support our cost management and project delivery team. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in quantity surveying principles and a keen interest in developing their career within a client-side consultancy environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Pre-Contract Stage
- Assist in preparing cost estimates budget analyses and feasibility studies.
- Support in tender documentation including Bills of Quantities (BQ) cost plans and tender evaluations.
- Participate in tender analysis and reporting ensuring compliance with client requirements.
- Assist in value engineering exercises and cost optimization reviews.
2. Post-Contract Stage
- Support in contract administration including progress payment certification variation evaluation and cost reporting.
- Assist in preparing monthly cost reports and financial updates for the client.
- Review and verify contractor claims and change orders.
- Maintain accurate cost records and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
3. Coordination & Support
- Work closely with the PMCs project managers design consultants and contractors to ensure cost and time control.
- Participate in site meetings and inspections as required to verify progress and cost implications.
- Support the senior QS team in preparing reports and presentations for clients.
Requirements:
- Education:
- Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying or related field.
- Experience:
- 23 years of relevant working experience in consultancy developer or contractor environments.
- Exposure to cost planning tendering and contract administration.
- Experience in PMC or client-representative roles is an added advantage.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Good understanding of construction contracts (e.g. PAM JKR FIDIC).
- Proficient in MS Excel CostX or similar cost management tools.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Good communication and report-writing abilities.
- Detail-oriented proactive and eager to learn in a fast-paced consultancy environment.
