Internship Overview:
Rocket Lab is transitioning from a legacy CAD system (SolidWorks) to Siemens NX to enhance our engineering capabilities. Were seeking a driven intern to support this critical migration project. This is your chance to work on cutting-edge tools develop automation solutions and contribute to the systems that help us launch rockets into space.

What Youll Do:

  • CAD Data Migration:Assist in migrating CAD data from SolidWorks to Siemens NX using advanced translation tools.
  • Automation with Python:Use your scripting skills to develop Python-based solutions that automate repetitive tasks and streamline the migration process.
  • Data Validation:Compare and validate updated files to ensure data quality accuracy and compliance with engineering standards.
  • 2D Drawing Updates:Update or create linked 2D drawings in Siemens NX as needed to support design workflows.
  • Problem-Solving:Collaborate with engineers and designers to troubleshoot issues resolve discrepancies and optimize workflows.
  • Documentation:Document processes workflows and automation scripts to ensure knowledge transfer and scalability.

What Were Looking For:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering Aerospace Engineering Computer Science or a related field.
  • Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks and/or Siemens NX preferred).
  • Proficiency in Python scripting with a passion for automation and problem-solving.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring data quality.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new tools and workflows.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Bonus: Experience with data validation quality assurance or CAD file management.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Able to work full-time on-site for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks beginning November 24 2025.
