About your next Challenge as a Senior Associate Electrical Engineering:
Working as part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team including software hardware and systems engineering the candidate will be responsible for delivery of electrical designs and documentation for systems as part of a modern integrated naval communication system. The candidate will be expected to possess a range of knowledge about the integration and interfacing of power and signal bearing components and cabling for cabinets assemblies and shipboard cable related to systems such as shipboard radios and antennas satellite communications tactical data links telecommunications and networks. The candidate will work closely with the system design teams architecture leads and drafting teams to specify and document the electrical design. Success criteria for this role will include:
Delivery of produceable designs for build/assembly;
Compliance with system requirements and applicable electrical standards; and
Effective resolution of issues encountered during prototyping manufacturing integration and test.
What will you do:
The candidate will perform the following design and integration activities for naval shipboard electrical systems:
- Design and draft electrical diagrams ensuring that drawings are produced in accordance with applicable drafting codes and standards;
- Prepare and review drawings and documentation including electrical block diagrams schematics and cable assemblies;
- Prepare and review shipboard cabling and cabinet design;
- Design and test for electromagnetic compatibility following military standards;
- Diagnose problems with existing designs and propose design modifications;
- Select cables connectors and components to meet cost and performance objectives;
- Prepare and review intra- and inter- system interface documentation;
- Create Technical Product Specifications (TPS) to describe selected systems;
- Oversee installation operation maintenance and repair of electrical/electronic systems;
- Work with manufacturing partners to introduce designs into production and solve related manufacturing issues;
- Maintain currency of Electrical/Electronic design best practices methodologies initiatives;
- Prepare power consumption calculations and manage power consumption budgets;
Required Skills and Experiences:
- Bachelors Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant lieu of a degree a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience is required
- Proficient using MS Office and CAD tools
- Working knowledge of Military Standards for designing and testing electrical systems

- Knowledge of RF antenna characteristics and co-site design
Eligibility Criteria (Mandatory):
- Must be eligible for registration with theControlled Goods Program;
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Level 2 (Secret)security clearance.
- Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
