Position Description
This is a split position between the X-Ring Store & StFX Store reporting to both the Manager of the X-Ring Store & StFX Store.
StFX has a strong brand identity by the University trademark the X-Ring. The X-Ring Store CSR position will be a brand ambassador helping manage sales of the X-Ring and StFX branded products within the X-Ring Store including knowledge of working with a Point-of-Sale System. The person in this role will be an on-floor expert answering questions and inquiries about X-Ring eligibility and the ordering process of the X-Ring. This position will assist eligible students and Alumni with X-Ring sizing ordering deposit and payment. The person in this role will inspect X-Ring orders as they arrive from the supplier and assist in preparing the rings for the X-Ring Ceremony.
As a StFX Store CSR the person is responsible for customer service for all aspects of the retail environment at the StFX Store. Knowledge of working with a Point-of-Sale System is required however training will be provided to those requiring such. Take customer and department orders via email walk in & on-line. Orders to be shipped out will be processed and provided to the Shipper/Receiver. The StFX Store CSR is expected to provide efficient and courteous assistance to all customers. The position is also responsible for maintaining a clean and organized front store. Often these individuals will perform various management assigned tasks when customer service is not immediately required within the store. These tasks range from stocking shelves to packing textbooks for return to updating inventory items. Knowledge of web-based applications and digital cameras is also required to update our online store with new inventory as it arrives (or removing items as they sell).
The CSR will be required to be able to work flexible hours including some evenings (during the academic year) some weekends and some holidays (when the store is open).
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service by responding to X-Ring inquiries (in person by phone and email) and assisting students and alumni with sizing eligibility ordering deposits and payments.
- Ensure the X-Ring Store maintains a high standard of presentation cleanliness and product display.
- Inspect incoming X-Ring orders for accuracy and quality; prepare and label rings for the X-Ring Ceremony.
- Promote awareness of the X-Rings history and its contribution to the Xaverian Fund.
- Support campus events such as Homecoming Convocation and the X-Ring Ceremony through set-up and on-site sales.
- Deliver courteous customer service in the StFX Store processing transactions and completing end-of-day sales.
- Maintain store organization by tagging stocking and managing merchandise and textbooks.
- Update and maintain the online store inventory; assist with shipping receiving and regalia services.
Qualifications
- A Bachelors Degree in a field relevant to the position preferred; A minimum Diploma in Business or equivalent
- Preference will be given to candidates with 2 or more years experience in a similar role.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Must have experience working and communicating with customers
- Strong work ethics and success at working in a team environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and follow-up with an eye for detail
- MS office suite (Excel PowerPoint Word) experience helpful
