Job Summary

King Law Information Technology Internship Program

Purpose

To provide college students pursuing Bachelors degrees in Information Technology Computer Science or related fields with hands-on experience in management and support of technology operations within a professional services environment. Interns will gain exposure to software systems hardware setup troubleshooting and technology project coordination while supporting King Laws Technology team.

Program Structure

Type: Unpaid for academic credit
Duration: 12 weeks with 1 week for time off

Start: January 20 2026

End: April 17 2026
Hours: 10 hours per week
Location: Hybrid
Supervisor: Technology Manager
Coordinator: Talent Manager

Learning Objectives

By the end of the program the student will be able to:

1. Explain how technology supports the daily operations of a law firm.

2. Demonstrate knowledge of software setup user access management and IT troubleshooting.

3. Understand basic networking data security and system configuration principles.

4. Apply problem-solving skills to identify and resolve technology-related issues.

5. Communicate effectively with users while providing technical support.

Intern Responsibilities

Assist with new employee technology setup including computers software and phones.

Help maintain and update the firms technology inventory records.

Support the troubleshooting of basic IT issues and coordinate with external vendors when needed.

Observe and assist in system administration tasks including account setup and license management across all platforms.

Learn and apply cybersecurity best practices for handling data and device access.

Support the coordination of office technology needs for moves upgrades or new locations.

Mentorship & Evaluation

Weekly Check-In: 15-minute progress meeting with IT Manager.

Midpoint Review: Progress assessment using a short evaluation form.

Final Presentation: 10-minute summary of what was learned and recommendations for process improvement.

School Credit Documentation: Signed by GM and/or Talent Manager at completion.

Program Overview and What to Expect

Throughout the internship students will gain real-world experience supporting the technology infrastructure of a multi-location law firm. The program begins with an introduction to King Laws technology systems software platforms and cybersecurity protocols. Interns will participate in hands-on projects related to equipment setup account management and process documentation.

As the internship progresses students will assist with troubleshooting user support and technology process improvements. Interns will also gain exposure to project coordination vendor relations and the firms technology life cycle managementfrom onboarding new employees to system maintenance and offboarding procedures. This internship is designed to provide practical experience in IT support and operations within a professional business setting.

Eligibility

College students pursuing a Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science or a related field.

Recommendation from a faculty advisor or internship coordinator.

Ability to receive school credit required.
