Job Summary

Safety Officer (Contract)

A leading steel manufacturing company in India is seeking a proactive and experienced Safety Officer for a contract position. This role is crucial in ensuring a safe and healthy working environment at our Bokaro Jharkhand facility.

Tasks

Develop implement and enforce comprehensive safety policies and procedures in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Investigate accidents incidents and near misses determining root causes and implementing preventive measures.
Provide safety training and awareness programs to all employees and contractors.
Ensure compliance with all relevant safety laws regulations and permits.
Maintain safety records reports and documentation.
Collaborate with management and employees to foster a strong safety culture.

Skills

Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) or Bachelor of Technology (.) in a relevant field.
Minimum of 5 years and a maximum of 10 years of experience in a Safety Officer role preferably within the steel industry.
Proven expertise in safety management hazard identification risk assessment and incident investigation.
Strong knowledge of Indian safety regulations and best practices.
Excellent communication interpersonal and training skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
