Job Summary

SME-Fixture design-mechanical

Exp: 8yrs

Location: Bengalore

Roles & Responsibilities

Design the welding fixtures for rail seating systems as per the final product configuration

Need to make concept design iterations sizing of components & manufacturing methodology

Build the fixture design for manual welding & automatic robotic welding (MIG welding methods)

Guide the team to develop the concepts for different types of seat frames & validate the concept

Design the fixture adhering to standards like AWS for welding and other ISO standards for GD&T/tolerances

Hands-on design the concept of the fixture using Solidworks tool & iterate to come out with best design

Should be familiar with steel material standards for Europe geography

Fully aware of design of different weld joints controlling heat zone welding distortion control etc

Fully aware of structual design & manufacturing using steel as material. Sheet metal design knowledge is essential

Should possess strong written and verbal communication. Ability to work independently and should be a good team player

Good Analytical Communication Presentation skills

Basic Qualifications & Requirements :

Experience as design of mechaincal fixtures in the heavy engineering domain

Strong knowledge in the workshop practices manufacturing methodologies fabrication and machining methods

Hands on with the design of welding fixtures in the heavy engineering domain. Successfully designed & manufactured more than 25 fixtures for heavy machinery and sheet metal structures

Familiar with processes like metal cutting edge preparation surface treatement component inspection etc

Should be able to decide independently the surface finish final part level GD&T based on the manfuacturing process

Ability to develop documentation like manuals power point presentation etc.

Deliver the project as per the agreed timelines and estimated efforts

Work experince in CAD tools like Solidworks/Catia V5
