Job Summary

About the Role
Sole Hire is seeking an experienced General Accountant to support our client a growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) specializing in IT solutions for small to mid-sized businesses. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of accounting principles hands-on QuickBooks expertise and prior experience working in or supporting an MSP environment.
This is a contract-to-hire opportunity. After a 90-day successful contract period the role will transition to a full-time W2 position with access to medical dental and vision insurance along with additional fringe benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations including AP/AR journal entries reconciliations and month-end close.
- Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and financial reporting records.
- Process payroll vendor payments and client invoicing in QuickBooks.
- Assist with budgeting forecasting and cash flow management.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and project teams to ensure accurate billing and expense tracking.
- Reconcile client accounts commissions and project-based revenue recognition.
- Support audits tax preparation and compliance with federal/state financial regulations.
- Identify process improvements and enhance accounting workflows within the MSP framework.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field (required).
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience preferably within a Managed Service Provider (MSP) or technology services company.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks (Online and Desktop) required.
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles and month-end processes.
- Experience with project-based billing recurring revenue models and service contracts.
- Excellent analytical organizational and communication skills.
- Proactive detail-oriented and able to work independently in a remote environment.

Compensation & Benefits
- $65000 $85000 annually (based on experience)
- 90-day contract period with weekly pay via Sole Hire

Required Skills:
What Were Looking For Bachelors degree in accounting Finance or related field 5 years of progressive accounting/finance experience CPA or other relevant certifications strongly preferred but not required Experience in the MSP industry or a similar services-based business strongly preferred Proficiency in accounting systems (QuickBooks NetSuite or similar) Strong problem-solving organizational and communication skills Hands-on proactive approachyoure not afraid to dig into details
